was born in Westphalia and grew up there.
At the University of Paderborn, she completed a teaching degree for secondary school level I and II with the subjects of English and pedagogic, there she won extensive experience in both education in schools as well as in early childhood (language).
After her graduation from university, she worked as an English teacher for some time until she accompanied her British husband to Hampshire, UK for two years. Ilka lives now with her husband and two young sons in Gütersloh.
Bilingual Education in early childhood is her special concern as she has familiarized herself with its benefits not only during her studies but also while educating her own children. Ilka and the children really enjoy a diversified lesson plan.
